Your guide to Goldwork Embroidery - an art form which dates back over 2000 years, is here! I have painstakingly created this comprehensive, all inclusive kit for the beginner in mind.

With just a needle and thread, some metal wires, some tools and some meditative motions, let yourself be immersed by the timeless craft of Goldwork embroidery. This exquisite needlecraft technique can be used in a multitude of ways, once you've acquired just a few basic skills. In this kit, I demonstrate this lustrous craft the way it was taught to me at the Royal School of Needlework, and now you too can master it.

This kit will enable you to:

• Learn an age old craft according to The Royal School of Needlework standards

• Acquire an essential resource for both beginners and experienced embroiderers

• Create exquisite embroidery in your own artistic expression once you've acquired a few basic skills

YOUR KIT INCLUDES:

1. A comprehensive instruction booklet with over 30 pages and over 60 step by step photographic and illustrative images

2. 10 x 10inch piece of organic cotton fabric

3. 6 inch Elbesee wooden hoop made by a British family-run business

4. One small Number 9 needle & one large Plunging needle

5. Wooden bobbin with 3 different threads wrapped around it. This includes 1 grey polyester thread, a blue metallic thread and navy blue cotton which you will need to create your embroidery

6. Template of beetle to transfer onto fabric

7. Templates of the beetle's body part to transfer onto felt

8. 3x2 inch piece of yellow felt

9. A piece of beeswax

10. Gold and blue beads

11. Rococco Wire

Long before I held an embroidery needle, I knew that the beauty of metal thread work greatly intrigued me. I studied Hand Embroidery at the world renowned Royal School of Needlework, England. Here I learned of Goldwork and my love and appreciation for exquisite craftsmanship blossomed. I've been embroidering regularly for the last 12 years and you can follow my creative journey on instagram @theoldesewingroom

LEVEL:

Some embroidery experience would be beneficial, but it is not necessary as I have designed this kit for all skill levels.
