Entirely hand embroidered using specialised Goldwork metals, soft leather, crystals, antique gold beads and cotton threads.
To create a 3-D effect on the beetle’s body, I have used several layers of felt padding. Different sizes of crystals and antique gold multi faceted beads were then sewn on to create a scintillating texture.
I have used a deep blue leather for the beetle’s head and finished with a thick antique gold cord around the body. Legs and antennas have been embroidered using individually cut gold and blue metals and tiny round beads.
Embroidered on an organic, unbleached cotton fabric and set in a 7 x 5 inch wood effect oval hoop ready to hang 🖤
