Mini Floral Motif Brocade Fabric with Antique Gold & Pearl Beads

£30.00
Floral motifs have long been an integral part of Indian textiles. Traditionally, complex floral patterns consist of a running floral pattern, a 'buti' – a single flower or figure. The intricate repeat pattern on this fabric immediately called out to me when I saw it in a bridal shop on my travels to India.

In the 19th century, new designs such as bouquets, flower baskets and ribbons were used and reflect the aesthetic influence of the British Empire in India as well as increased export of these luxury fabrics.

I have embellished this regal brocade fabric with multi faceted antique gold beads and off-white pearls.

The fabric has an antique gold floral motif woven into it using a fine metallic thread.

Each bead has been secured with a hard-wearing cotton thread and creates an elegant visual effect especially when caught by the light.

Set in a round 5” wood effect embroidery hoop ready to hang or display in your home.

Lovingly packaged with brown paper, twine, a wax seal and dried flowers 🖤
